The boiler house of the former St. Joseph's Hospital in East City has been converted into a modern industrial-style office building for the engineering firm GHD.
"What a magnificent building," said Coun. Gary Baldwin, at the office launch celebration on Wednesday.
GHD is a large firm with locations across Ontario and around the world. It has been in Peterborough for 38 years, with offices and materials testing lab on Pido Road.
While the lab remains on Pido Road, the firm's engineers, scientists and technicians, about 60 people in total, now work in the former boiler house on Armour Road, which the firm leases from developer TVM Group.
