TVM’s 185 Hunter Street East is a beautiful heritage building forming part of the old St. Joseph hospital campus in East City. The building originally served as the Nurses Residence for the hospital and was later converted to various hospital related uses. TVM is currently converting the building into 30 residential suites on floors 2 through 4, and a new commercial space on the ground floor. The commercial space will be the new home for Community Care Peterborough. Community Care Peterborough will run many of its services from this new location including a foot clinic and meals on wheels.
The newly developed building will be fully accessible as will be all of the suites and the commercial space within the building. The building will be built to rival any other residential spaces in the City. Each residential suite will have its own in-suite washer and dryer, built in dishwasher, central air conditioning system and independently controlled heating system. The building will include the latest in insulation systems for maximum efficiency and comfort. All life safety systems will be state of the art and full up to date internet, fibre optic, cable and telephone wiring will be in place throughout each suite.
The lovely community at the old St. Josephs hospital will make living in a polished apartment building feel like perfection! Residents will get together for community events and social functions and more importantly, just to check in and take in the warmth of friendships new and old.
Each suite will be built with aging in place in mind. Security, comfort and convenience of residents were foremost in mind throughout the design and planning stages and will be evident from the moment one walks through the door. Luxuriously wide hallways, grand bathrooms, huge windows, efficient floor plans and premium finishes will all contribute to making this building the pinnacle of living in the City!
